LAN Support Services

Consulting

LAN Support Services (LSS), a part of the Rutgers University Telecommunications Division, offers free consulting services to those departments considering or planning to implement a hardware firewall to protect their local area network. LSS will assist departments in identifying the proper hardware configuration required for their operation and for the Rutgers networking environment.

Installations

LSS offers firewall installation services on a fee for service basis. This service provided guidance to the departmental technical staff through the planning and preparation process, coordination with the Telecommunication Division, and performing the on-site installation. This service is billed on an hourly basis.

On-going monitoring and maintenance

LSS will provide monitoring and maintenance services for firewalls that have been installed by them. This service is a contracted service handled on an annual basis.
